Many thanks for your learned, objective, and fair defense of the potential mica mine on Poncha Pass, as well as of mining in general. The mining industry also owes you its sincere appreciation for a rational discussion of the pros and cons regarding a neighboring mining operation.
Paul Martz and Ed Rogers have commented appropriately on Hal Walter's myopic urging of nearby residents to oppose the mine. I need say nothing further, except to note that I have long admired Walter's skill with words and jackasses; but it may be that he has associated too long with the latter.
