Leadville Scenery Project
In 1933, Muriel Sibell Wolle, from the University of Colorado, brought a group of students to Leadville to set up the original canvas flats and drops to document and photograph them. Mrs. Wolle sketched each of the scenes and later painted them in watercolor. Black and white images are available online in the Denver Public Library's Western History collection: photoswest.org. The actual 18"x24" watercolors are stored in the Western History Collection.
