Ratcliffe, Alan D ., 54, Chief Engineer, passed away at home, peacefully, Monday, October 16, 2017. Alan was born January 23, 1963 in Biloxi, MS and raised in Goodland, KS by his grandparents, Bessie and Vernon Ratcliffe. After High school Alan served in the U. S. Marine Corps. Alan enjoyed anything that involved competition such as golf, football, softball and tennis. Throughout his high school career he won several state tournaments in football and tennis. He was an avid pinochle player.Everyone that knew him, knew there wasn't a challenge he wouldn't take on. After moving to Wichita, he met his best friend, Brad Hemel. Their passion for living life to the fullest allowed them to bond instantly. In 2004, he expanded his career portfolio and opened a bar and grill, Jagers. The following year he opened his second bar and grill, Charlie's. His love for cooking was shown not only in the restaurant but also in his home.

Preceded in death by parents, James and Joyce Ratcliffe and grandparents, Bessie and Vernon Ratcliffe, survivors include, wife, Tangela Ross; son, Tannon; daughters, Justine and Shelby; brother, Dan (Cyndy) Ratcliffe; sisters, Deanna (Steve) Thornburg, Liz (Rick) Fisher, Janice and Julie Ratcliffe, Tina (Mike) Riley; and granddaughter, Nevaeh.
