Barbara J. Leo

LEO, BARBARA JOYCE (JAMES), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister for 91 years, went home to be with the Lord November 18, 2022. Barbara was born on July 13, 1931, at home on a farm west of Mulvane. To Henry Lynn James and Fannie Mae James (Harper). She was the fourth of five children. She attended three different rural schools and completed the first three years of high school at Rosehill. In 1948, she graduated from high school at Piedmont High. She was married to Frank James Leo on February 28, 1948. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Frank Leo; sons, Michael Leo and LeRoy Leo; grandsons, William Leo; sister, Della Miller; brothers, James, Robert, and Edgar. Survivors’sons, Frank James Jr of Atwater, California, Larry Ray, and wife Carolyn of Reed Springs, Mo; twelve grandchildren, Eddie Alan, Cora Shahid, Tonya Harp, Tammy West, Crystal Coffelt, Frank Leo III, Katherine Leo, Tara Leo, Zachary Leo, Nicholett Jones, and Todd Leo; 25 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren, and many cousins and nephews and nieces. Visitation with family present from 2:30 pm-4:30 pm, Sunday, November 27 , 2022, at Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway.  Celebration of Life Services, Monday, November 28,2022, at 10:00 am, also at Broadway Mortuary. Graveside service at Piedmont Cemetery, Piedmont, Kansas at (East 400 highway mile post 328) at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Washington State School for the blind, 2214 E. 13th St., Vancouver Washington, or Gerard House, 3310 E. Grand St, Wichita, KS 67218.
