Barbara Lee Osborne, 80, passed away Saturday January 24, 2026. She was born on May 15, 1945 to parents Marion and Edith Moore. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, David Osborne; her son and daughter-in-law Patrick and Naomi Osborne; daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Todd Attebery; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Diane Moore; grandchildren Elliott and Emmaline Attebery; and grand-dog Sir Dunkin.

Barbara and David married on September 3, 1966 and they spent 59 years together. They met in elementary school and started dating in high school. David used to deliver the afternoon paper to Barbara’s house and from that their relationship grew. Barbara and David spent one year apart when David served in the United States Air Force in Korea. They spent their married life living in Wichita.

Barbara’s career path included working at East Heights United Methodist Church and Eastminister Presbyterian Church. She spent her retirement volunteering and helping others in need. Barbara faithfully helped at church, volunteered at Botanica, the Kansas Food Bank, Thomas Hopkins Post 4, and passionately helped veterans that struggled with homelessness.

Barbara and David enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends, and enjoying their grandchildren. Barbara was a constant fixture at her children's and grandchildren’s activities and events. She loved having a family meal once a week and became known as the dessert grandma as she always arrived with a yummy treat. Barbara was also known for stopping by frequently to spend time with her grandchildren.

Celebration of life service will be March 5th, 2026 at 11:00. Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. There will be a reception following the service.

Memorials in Barbara’s name are at the Kansas Food Bank and Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
