Betty Hawks, a beloved figure in the lives of many, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 97. Born on October 4, 1927, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, Betty lived a life filled with compassion, dedication, and service.
For over 30 years, she devoted herself to the care and education of children as a Day Care Director, leaving an indelible mark on her community. Her commitment to nurturing young minds was a testament to her character and her belief in the potential of every child.
Betty is survived by her loving son, Tom and his wife Ellen Hawks, along with her cherished daughter, Vicki and her husband Roy Webb. Her legacy also includes her adoring grandchildren, Shawn and Christy Hawks, Kristin and Brian Harpst, and Kevin and Brandi Webb; great-grandchildren, Avery and Grace Hawks, KJ Johnson, Carson Hawks, Wyatt Webb, and her great-great-granddaughter, Elsie Hawks.
She now joins her late husband, Ivan Hawks, alongside her parents, Edward and Mae Fox, who preceded her in death. Betty's strong spirit and unwavering love will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life honoring Betty Hawks will be held on May 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at the Cozine Life Events Center, located at 11500 E. 21st St. N., Wichita, Kansas, where family and friends will come together to share memories and celebrate the profound impact she had on their lives.
Betty's legacy is one of warmth, kindness, and an enduring commitment to fostering love and learning through family and community. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
