Betty Jacobs

Jacobs, Betty M., 86, retired dental assistant and office manager for 40 years, died January 23, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1958 N. Webb Rd. Betty was born in Sterling, IL to Clarence and Vada Marken on March 19, 1931. She was very proud of her one room school and always teased Kent about being smarter (probably was). She met her husband, Kent, in high school when she invited him to a Sadie Hawkins dance. They were married for 66 years. Betty was a feisty red head and enjoyed life and people to the fullest. She and Kent lived in their motor home for 9 years, traveling to all 48 states and Canada. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Kathy Jacobs. She is survived by her husband, Kent; daughter, Debbie O’Brien; granddaughters, Mary-Kate O’Brien and Jennifer (Shannon) Rollins; great-granddaughter, Isabella Elliott and close family friend, Pat O’Brien. The family wishes to thank the staff of Serenity Hospice and a special thanks to all the wonderful caring and loving staff at Life Care Center of Wichita.
