Betty J. Kramer, 100, recently of Wichita, went home to the Lord on Sunday, February 1, 2026, embraced by members of her loving family.

Betty was born on April 28, 1925 in Baileyville, Kansas to parents Leo “Pete” and Julia “Agnes” Henry. Betty attended grade school in Baileyville and graduated from Nemaha High School. Before marriage, Betty moved to Kansas City where she worked a series of jobs in a sewing factory, in a defense plant building airplanes during WWII, and in the telephone service of AT&T.

On February 3rd, 1951, Betty married the love of her life, Wilbur Anthony Kramer, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. They were married for 63 years until Wilbur’s death in 2014. They lovingly supported each other as they raised a family of 7 children on their farm in Senaca.

A devoted and faith-filled Catholic, Betty loved God and her Church deeply. She was a long-time member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca and Corpus Cristi Catholic Church in Lawrence. She was an Oblate of Saint Benedict for St. Benedicts Abbey in Atchison, certified as a Catechist in the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine by the Archdiocese of Kansas City, a member of St. Ann’s Altar Society in Seneca, and served as a lay minister for many years.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband; daughter Mary Schier; and siblings Rita Fienhage, Eileen Huls, Mary Chelemedos, James Henry, Norma Heiman, Cecil Henry, Damian Henry, Sonja Henry and Nicholas Henry.

She is survived by children Joe (Carol) Kramer, Denise (Bill) Heinen, Mark (Suzie) Kramer, Stan (Stephanie) Kramer, Julie (Alec) Vincent, and David (Christine) Kramer; son-in-law Jim Schier; brother Arlen Henry; 23 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren.

A Rosary will be prayed at 10 AM on Friday, February 20th, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11 AM. A luncheon in the Church Hall is offered after Mass. A burial service will be held later in the afternoon at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lawrence, Kansas.

The family suggests memorials in her name to Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca, Corpus Cristi Catholic Church in Lawrence and/or to Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas
