Betty Sue Stewart, 72, was born on March 25, 1954, in Ponca City, OK, to Johnnie Hezekiah Bussey and Fleta Lou (Veach) Bussey, and passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026 in Wichita, KS. A Celebration of Life Service has been planned for 1:30 pm, Saturday, July 25th, at the Cozine Life Events Center, 11500 E. 21st St. N.
Betty graduated from Ponca City, OK High School, and then went on to work for 26 years at Boeing Wichita. After this lengthy career, she then became a First Student Bus Driver for special needs children. She did that for fourteen years. She had many interests and hobbies. Among the list was painting, sewing, crochet, knitting, gardening, canning, and homesteading. many benefitted from her talents in these areas.
She was preceded in death by both parents and is survived by her son, Tyson (Patty) Stewart of Bixby, Ok; daughter, Cory (Jeff) Rogers of Tahlequah, OK; son, Ian (Brandy) Stewart of Newton, KS; sisters, Wanda Bussey of Greenfield, WI, Ruth Miller of Oklahoma City, OK, Joni Birdwell of Ponca City, OK, and Nancy Bussey of Kaw City, OK; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Our beautiful mother has gone to be with the Lord, but we take comfort in her peace, and will miss her greatly.
