Fortner, Beverly Jo, born March 23, 1939 in Winfield, KS, died September 12, 2020 in Wichita, KS. She was the daughter of Elva May and Norman Lincoln Bradford. She graduated from Winfield High School in May, 1957.

During her years she worked for B and L Restaurant, A & W Drive In, McClean’s 5 and 10¢ Store, St. Mary’s Hospital, Winfield Newton Memorial Hospital X-Ray dept., and she kept books for D and F Porta Johns. Early on, Beverly worked in the Nazarene Church Bus Ministry and taught in the children’s Sunday School classes. Beverly loved to take people to Dr’s Offices and hospitals and anywhere they needed to go. She loved doing crafts and decorating for the holidays and seasons. She also loved her dogs, Tally and Desi, and her latest one a poodle, Abby.

She married Bruce Earon Fortner, November 28, 1957, and had two sons, Donald Bruce and Terry Gene. After her husband passed away in 2009, Beverly moved to Wichita, KS. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Norma Joan Bradford, Dorothy Hicks and Joyce Sultz; husband, Bruce; mother, Elva May Bradford Peacock; father, Norman Lincoln Bradford, and Step dad, Glenn Peacock. Survivors include her sons, Donald Bruce Fortner and his wife Crystal of Wichita, KS and Terry Gene Fortner of Winfield, KS; granddaughter, Samantha Fortner of Oxford, KS; brother, Kenneth Bradford and wife, Jo of Wichita, KS; sister, Madaline Bradford of Wichita, KS and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great- nieces and nephews.
