Bonnie Owen

Bonnie Jean Owen, née Chance, passed away on February 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and the many people whose lives she touched throughout the years.

Born on March 11, 1956, in Alva, Oklahoma, Bonnie was the daughter of Robert O. Chance and Frances J. Armstrong. She carried throughout her life the fierce independence, strength, and resilience that defined who she was.

Bonnie was tough, fearless, and never afraid to stand up for herself or for the people she loved. Beneath that strength was a deeply caring heart. She loved helping others and would drop everything at a moment's notice for her children and grandchildren. Family was always her priority, and she devoted herself fully to the people she loved.

She had a way of making everyone feel like family. Many of her children's and grandchildren's friends lovingly called her "Mom" and "Grandma" throughout the years, a reflection of the love, comfort, and support she gave so freely.

She is survived by her daughter, Nikki Owen; her son, Joel Owen; her grandchildren, Caiden McCullough, Anissa Dennis, Drue Owen, and Rhys Owen; her great-grandchild, Alister Trowbridge; her sister, Barbara Alvarez; and her brother, James Chance. She also leaves behind Nikki's lifelong friends, Kristy Kendall (Gunter) and Erin Morrison (Gunter), whom Bonnie loved like daughters and who lovingly called her "Mom."

A Celebration of Life will be held at Cozine Life Center on June 6 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Her strength, loyalty, fierce love, and willingness to always show up for the people she cared about will never be forgotten.
