Bruce Messecar

Bruce Mitchell Messecar, 79, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026. Bruce was born in Wichita, Kansas, and graduated from Wichita East High School. Shortly after graduation, he married his sweetheart, Susie Horner and had 2 beautiful children, Mitchell and Kristie. Bruce attended vocational college to further his career before spending several years as a manager at the local Otasco stores. Bruce was later recommended for a position at Derby High School, where he remained until he retired 30 years later. 

Service celebrating Bruce's life will be at 3:30pm, Thursday, April 2nd, at Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway, Wichita, KS. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Annabelle Messecar; sister, Beverly Messecar; and the mother of his children, Susie Horner. He is survived by son, Mitchell Messecar; daughter and son-in-law, Kristie and Wallace Cooper; grandchildren, Sheldon Bailey, Colby Bailey, Stihl Bailey, Kinze Bailey, Tyler Messecar, Catie Messecar, Whitney Weber, and Megan Jones.
