Caroline “Lynn” Edna (Caulkins) Stockton of Wichita, KS, aged 90, passed away on April 3, 2024. Lynn was born October 7, 1933 in Olney, Illinois to Chales FJ. Caulkins and Edna (Pierson) Caulkins. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Wenda (William) Snyder of Overland Park, KS, Nancy Moore of Springfield, MO, Greg (Shelly) Stockton of Front Royal, VA and Tim (Diane) Stockton of Wichita, KS.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Clinton Snyder and Elizabeth (David) Bluhm of Overland Park, KS, Taylor Moore, Rachel Moore of Grapevine, TX, Kristen (Greg) Burch of Denver, CO, Jessica (Jared) Duke of Pittsburg, PA, Kaitlyn (Brendon) Foster, of Firestone, CO, Anna Stockton of Front Royal, VA, Abigail Stockton of Front Royal, VA, and Emily (Dillan) Riccio of,Roanoke, VA, Michelle Stockton, Christina Stockton, Rebekah Stockton, Jacqueline (Nathan) Gillman of Wichita, KS, and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Bud) Stockton, her parents, Charles FJ. and Edna Caulkins, and siblings, Walter Lindstrom and wife Pauline, Laura June Hart and husband Robert, Charles Caulkins and wife Carlene, and Charlotte Newberry and husband Paul.

Lynn was the fourth of five children growing up in rural Kansas where her dad was a Free Methodist minister.  She graduated from Topeka High School in 1951.  Following graduation, she moved to Los Angeles, CA for a short time and worked as a telephone operator. She also had brief stints in Portland, OR and later Wichita, KS.

In 1955 she met her future husband, Bud. After getting married on December 9, 1956, she lived in Galesburg, IL, where Wendy and Nancy were both born. They then moved to Lawerence, KS, where Greg was born, followed by Lincoln, NE where Tim was born.

In 1966, Bud took a position with Learjet back in Wichita where he and Lynn resided until their deaths. In about 1968, Lynn quit her job as an executive secretary with Beechcraft to become a full time housewife. She was the consummate example of what a housewife should be, always making sure to have meals made, the house was immaculate, and she enjoyed her life in this role. It was during this time that she would often meet one of her kids for a picnic lunch at Riggs Park in Haysville, KS next to the elementary school.

Lynn was also a very talented and gifted musician and artist. She would play either the piano or the organ for church for many years, direct handbell choirs, directed children’s musicals and taught children’s church. She worked as a professional cake decorator working out of the home, as well as a piano teacher to help with life’s expenses and paying for college for four kids. The church staff also would benefit by receiving plates of cookies or birthday cakes throughout the year. Anytime there was a baby or wedding shower, Lynn would make the cake and punch, all as a gift.

She also enjoyed sewing and needlework. From the time she was young, she learned many of the lost art needle works and always had several projects underway. All of her children have quilts that she made. Her grandchildren were all given baby blankets, quilts, and many are the clothes that were made for them.

While she enjoyed all of the arts, there was nothing she enjoyed more than serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her Bibles are worn and filled with notes from sermons and she always looked forward to the day when she would be with her Lord in person. Today, Lynn is rejoicing in Heaven at the feet of her Savior in person and is healthier and happier than ever.
