Christine Wagenen

Christine Eleanor Birchall Van Wagenen, most recently of Wichita, KS passed away after a battle with ALS. She also resided in Fort Fairfield, ME, Naples, FL, Harwich Port, MA and Andover, NH.

Christine was a teacher for many years, including Reading, First Grade and High School. She was an avid tennis player and skier.

Christine was born in Lowell, MA on January 31, 1943. She attended the Lowell school system. She graduated from New England College in Henniker, NH with a BS in Education.

Christine is predeceased by her husband, Richard Van Wagenen; her parents David and Christine (Cameron) Birchall and grand daughter, Megan Day. She is survived by her three daughters, Heidi Van Wagenen Day, Lorin Van Wagenen Carroll, and Gretchen Van Wagenen Montgomery; son-in-law’s Michael Day and Scott Montgomery; and 8 grandchildren; Jonathan Carroll, Emily Carroll, Tyler Day, Isaac Montgomery, Seth Montgomery, Madeline Carroll, Ian Montgomery and Joshua Montgomery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Andover Historical Society, P.O. Box 167, Andover, NH 03216.

Interment and a memorial service will occur in NH during the summer.
