Claudine Talbott

January 13, 1939 — May 29, 2020

Claudine Trees Talbott, died peacefully on May, 29, 2020 in Wichita, KS. Claudine was born in Wichita, KS on January 13, 1939 to William G. (Ole) Talbott and Ramona Talbott.

She is survived by her brother, William C. Talbott (Nancy) of Hays, KS; nephews, James A. Talbott of Wichita, Thomas W. Talbott of Garden City, KS, Scott A. (Lottie) Talbott of Wichita, Steven C. (Blythe)Talbott of Frisco, TX, and niece Lynn Talbott of Kansas City, MO.

She is also survived by her brother, Dr. William Garland Talbott Jr. (Polly) of Charlottesville VA; nieces, Lindsay Talbott and Laurie Talbott of Charlottesville, VA; and nephews, Wesley (Ashley) Talbott of Winston-Salem, NC and William Talbott of Baltimore, MD.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan A. Bowles of Wichita; father, William G. Talbott and mother, Ramona (Trees) Talbott of Wichita.

Claudine graduated from Wichita East High School then attended the All-Girls School at Lindenwood University, St. Charles, MO, before transferring to the University of Kansas.

With both sides of her family tree involved in the oil business, Claudine decided the oil business was for her as well and she worked as the executive secretary and co-owner of Penguin Petroleum, Inc. in Wichita for over 35 years before retiring.

Claudine was a member of Crestview Country Club.  Golfers young and old would be greeted with a smile and a wave as she watched them play from her back porch.  She enjoyed her long-time association with the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Foundation.   As a member of the Eastminster Presbyterian Church she loved all the social interaction with other members while celebrating her faith, as well as the numerous Bible study groups she attended over the years.   A social butterfly, Claudine never once met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with friends and family and strangers alike whenever the opportunity presented itself.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Good Shepherd Hospice of Wichita.
