Alaniz, Cruz, 86, retired Upholsterer and Korean War Veteran, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017. Rosary will be 7 p.m., Wednesday, February 1 and Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., February 2, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. He was preceded in death by parents, Jose and Julia Alaniz; beloved wife, Beverly Ann Alaniz; sister, Magdalena “Shirley” Rizo; and one great-granddaughter. Survivors include sons, Cruz R. (Rose Mary) and Joseph P. Alaniz; daughters, Chris Casmaer, Cecilia Luna, Cynthia (Luis) De La Torre, Debra Alaniz (Betsy) and Margaret McDonald; brothers, Frank Rodriguez and Louis Alaniz; sister, Delores Alaniz; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial has been established with Catholic Charities. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff members of Reflection Living Pearl House and Lakepoint West.
