“Grandma Dee” • “Aunt Deanna”
April 19, 1941 – December 1, 2025
Deanna J. Reif, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away suddenly on December 1, 2025, due to medical complications.
Deanna was born on April 19, 1941, in Wichita, Kansas, to Raymond and Maxine Fiegel. She was the second eldest of six children and grew up surrounded by family, a value she carried with her throughout her life.
In 1960, Deanna married the love of her life, Earl L. Reif. Their marriage marked the beginning of a 53-year journey together, filled with devotion, partnership, and shared experiences, until Earl’s passing in 2013. Together they raised two sons, Michael and Bret. Deanna was primarily a stay-at-home mother while her boys were young, a role she cherished deeply. Being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother brought her the greatest joy, and her love for her family was evident in everything she did. She was affectionately known as “Grandma Dee” and “Aunt Deanna” by many who loved her.
Creativity was a lifelong passion for Deanna. She enjoyed painting, needlepoint, ceramics, and working in a variety of artistic mediums. She truly had the soul of an artist.Throughout the years, Earl and Deanna moved several times, and during those seasons Deanna developed skills in bookkeeping and administrative work. No matter where life took them, the two were inseparable and remained constant companions.
Deanna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, and two brothers-in-law. She is survived by her two sons; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
A memorial service will be held on January 10, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Cozine Life Events Center, 11500 E. 21st Street North, Wichita, Kansas 67206.
