Dight House

Dight was born to Kenneth and Marie (Wilson) House, March 5, 1935 in Rush County, KS. Dight went to glory August 27, 2023.

 

He attended school in McCracken, KS, graduating from high school in 1953. He then spent two years in the armed services, mostly in Germany. After returning home, he attended Fort Hays State University, earning a degree in elementary education. Dight taught sixth grade for three years at McCracken Elementary while farming with his father Kenneth and brother Robert.

 

Dight was married to Leonore Willis of Kirwin, KS, a music teacher in McCracken, on March 28, 1959.

 

After a lifetime of farming in the McCracken area, Dight and Leonore moved to Wichita, KS in November 2017 to be closer to family: daughters Martha House and Jennifer (Randy) Johnson and son Thomas House; granddaughters Natasha Johnson, Chloe Johnson, and Victoria (Hunter) Briggs. He also leaves his younger sister Melissa (John) Garrett, Broken Arrow, OK.

 

Dight was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America (RPCNA). He recognized the saving blood of Christ Jesus as his first need. Graveside services will be in LaCrosse, KS September 2, 2023 at 10 am.
