Donald Joe Bobbitt, “Don”, 94, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on July 10, 2026.
He was born June 21, 1932 in Virgil, Kansas to Harry and Myrtle Bobbitt.
He worked for 37 years in the transportation department at Boeing .
Don bravely served his country during the Korean War as an Army Private First Class.
He married the love of his life, Alice Marie Fowler, on June 8, 1952 and raised two sons, Steve and Brent Bobbitt.
Don was known for his witty jokes, infectious smile and kind heart.
He enjoyed fishing, golfing, working on lawn mowers, coin collecting and metal detecting.
He will be remembered as a loving father by his sons (Brent and Steve ) and devoted grandfather by his grandchildren (Michael (Linda) Kissire, Becky (Patrick) Hamlin, Ethan Bobbitt and Kyle Bobbitt) and great grandchildren (Rin Kissire and Dalton Hamlin).
He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife Alice and siblings Bill (Lorraine) Bobbitt, Harold (Jackie) Bobbitt, Junior (Shirley) Bobbitt, Bob (Dorothy) Bobbitt, Lela (Gerald) Whipple and Dorothy (Gordon) Briar.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday July 14th from 6 to 8 PM at Broadway Mortuary and a graveside service will be held on July 15th at 10:00 AM at White Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project in Donald Bobbitt’s memory.
