Donald James “Deje” Glassburn, a man whose life was marked by dedication, generosity, and unwavering faith, passed away on March 18, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas. Born on February 5, 1964, in Seattle, Washington, Deje lived a life rich with diverse experiences and a profound commitment to those he loved and served.

Deje’s varied career reflected his strong work ethic and devotion to excellence. From his early days as a Merchant Mariner navigating the waters of the West Coast, stretching from Alaska to Hawaii, to his influential role in consulting for the start-up of coffeehouses nationwide with Calvary Chapel, he demonstrated versatility and dedication. His leadership shone brightly as he built and managed the Solid Ground coffee house in Wichita and served as the evening maintenance supervisor at Central Christian Church. His craftsmanship extended to more than four decades in every facet of construction, culminating in an 18-year tenure as the Building Code Compliance Officer in Andover.

Above all, Deje's steadfast devotion to his Lord Jesus Christ influenced every area of his life. He was known for his generosity, optimism, and pursuit of excellence in service to others.

Deje was most proud of his role as a husband and father. He cherished his family above all else. His sacrifices for their well-being were countless, and his presence will be profoundly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Erica and his children, Samuel, Jacob, and Julia. Deje also leaves behind his mother, Lynn Williams and siblings Debie Huber (Drew), Dana Markezinis (Chris), and Darin Glassburn. His extended family includes uncles, Steve Velez, Brad Velez, and Dennis Rider; and aunt, Valerie Chaparro, and nieces and nephews Teasha, Kerryanna, Travis, Christina, Kaelin, Darina, Justin, Eloise, Eila, Roman, Christopher, Austin, James, Jacob, Ryann, Barak, Benjamin, Baden, Levi, and Adonis.

Deje was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Glassburn, and his uncles, Rob Velez and Lance Rider.

A memorial service in honor of Donald James “Deje” Glassburn will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Central Christian Church. This service will provide a time for family and friends to come together to celebrate his life and legacy.

In remembering Deje Glassburn, we recall a man who embodied dedication, faith, and familial love. His impact echoes through the lives of those he touched, a testament to a life well-lived in service and devotion.
