Doris Hus

Doris Aileen (Gibson) Hus, 92, of Wichita, KS passed away Friday, February 11, 2022. She was born in Wichita, Kansas on May 25, 1929 to Horace James and Maggie (Case) Gibson.

She was a graduate of Clearwater High School in May 1947 and entered the Wesley Hospital School of Nursing in September 1947. She graduated nursing school September 1, 1950 and married William Loyal Hus September 3, 1950, and they were blessed with five children.

Doris took pride in being a loving mother and homemaker to her husband and children. She was also active in Parent-Teacher Associations in her children's schools and spent many hours involved in church activities, which included teaching Sunday school and volunteering as Missionary Council President.

In her retirement years, Doris and husband William "Bill" enjoyed traveling by train, fishing at their favorite Kansas state fishing lakes, and volunteering at several community outreach programs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, older brother, Hugh (Ruth) Gibson, older sister, Margaret (Brice) Ramsey, younger sister, Carol (Dean) Karlsberg, and infant brother Gerald, who died in infancy.

She is survived in death by older sister Patricia Gibson, younger brothers Glenn (Mary Lou) Gibson, Dwight (Darlene) Gibson, five children, Dennis (Marcia) Hus, Lonnie (Janice) Hus, Connie (Cayetano) Triana, Barry (Callie) Hus, Cynthia (David) Ebers, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Memorials have been established with Samaritan's Purse and Grace Med.
