Earl L. Ray, 78, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on July 27, 2025. He was born to Burriel and Alice (Busch) Ray on May 18, 1947 in Wichita, Kansas. He attended Riverview and Wichita Heights High School. After graduating high school, Earl served in the United States Navy in Vietnam. Following his time in the service, he became a truck driver and did that for his main career throughout life. Earl had many other jobs throughout his life such as a diesel mechanic, butcher, and over 15 years as a professional Santa Claus! Earl loved his role of Santa Claus and was heavily involved with Chick-Fil-A during the holiday season. Earl was also a member of the First Wesleyan Church.
Earl is preceded in death by his parents, Burriel and Alice (Busch) Ray. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne Ann (Kilmer) Ray; daughter, Jayme (Christopher) Brown; son, Casey (Angie) Ray; sisters, Frankie (Ray) Martin, and Rhea Ellen Cheers; brother, Benny (Georgie) Ray; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 2:00pm on Wednesday, August 6th at the Cozine Life Events Center.
