Freeda L. David was born on December 7, 1928 and passed into the arms of Jesus on February 9, 2023. She was the second to the youngest of the children born to Beshara and Nehima (Farha) David. She was a lifelong member of St. George Orthodox Christian Cathedral and a constant presence in the preparation for their annual public dinner-often the first to arrive and the last to leave on the many workdays. During her working career, she was employed by Lewin’s Dress Shop, A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc., and Pizza Hut Corporation. She was a charter member of the Bona Dea Social Club and loved playing cards. Freeda was famous among her family and friends for her love of dancing and for her cooking and baking-especially for her pies. Her home was always warm and welcoming, and she dressed impeccably. Her doctor commented upon learning of her death, “None of my other patients dress so nice to come see me.” She was a second mother to many of her nieces and nephews and was always considered “the cool aunt”.
Freeda was preceded in death by her father and mother, her siblings: Elias, Alice, George, Mary, Katherine, and Albert, and by her nephew, Fred, and niece, Marilyn. She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Dyane Razook, Joyce (Jim) Gregory, Judy (Pat) Stanley, George (Claudia) David, Jerry (Dolores) David, Suzanne Razook, Sara Abraham, David (Debbi) Elkouri, Kim (Jim) David, Kirk David, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Trisagion and funeral services will take place at 7:00pm, Monday, February 13, at St. George Orthodox Christian Cathedral. Burial will take place at 10:00am, Tuesday, February 14, at Old Mission Cemetery.
