Gabriel Njoroge

Gabriel Isaac Njoroge, 21, born November 28, 2000 in Wichita, Kansas, passed away March 7, 2022. Gabriel was preceded in death by his mother, Wanjiku Njoroge. Survivors include his grandmother, Pastor Rosemary Njoroge, his uncle, Waira Njau; aunts Janelle Dale, Susan Wamboi Randolph and Njeri Njoroge; elders, Njenga Njoroge and Mbugua Njoroge; and cousins, Fereciah Wanjigi, Mburu Wanjigi, Mbugua Wanjigi, Wanjiku Njoroge, Billy Njoroge, Wanjigi Njoroge, Njenga Chapman, Malaika Wanjiku Randolph and Wanjiru Grace Randolph. To know this young man was to love him. He had a smile that would light up the room and a laugh that was as boisterous as it was infectious. He had a kind and gentle soul. Those that knew him, really knew him, know that he’d never wish violence on anybody. However, unchecked, untreated mental health took that pure soul and smothered it. Covered up his light with a mix of drug and alcohol abuse. He was not the man the media portrayed him to be. He was a loving, caring and gentle young man, and an amazing friend, son and nephew. He was loved beyond measure and will be greatly missed.
