Gail Agnes Rudberg

Gail Agnes Rudberg passed away of natural causes February 3, 2026 at Larksfield Place Skilled Nursing, Wichita, Kansas.

Gail was born in Wichita, Kansas to William and (Mildred) Bernadine Huston on July 4, 1941. She attended Wichita public schools and proudly graduated from Wichita East High School. Following graduation, Gail joined the United States Navy and served for 3 years. After her years of service, she settled in Torrance, California where she worked for Pacific Bell through to retirement. During that time, she met and married Lloyd “Bud” Rudberg, whom she was married to until his passing in 2006.

Gail enjoyed her life in California getting involved as a Casa advocate for children. Her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved dogs. She had a fondness for Springer Spaniels and, she and Bud had several through the years, with Buddy being the last. Gail’s other four-legged “children” included her horses of which she had two different ones in her life. She became quite the skilled equestrian specializing in English riding and successfully competing in numerous competitions. Besides spending time at home in Torrance, Gail and Bud escaped to their homes in Walker Basin and Penn Valley where they made many good friends. They also spent time traveling with their closest friends to various places around the world.

Her nieces and nephew remember spending time with Gail when she would visit Wichita to spend time with her best friend and sister, Pat (their mom) and her brother Tommy. Her infectious laugh is what comes to mind when hanging out with Gail. She certainly liked to have a good time!

Gail is preceded in death by her husband, Bud, parents William and (Mildred) Bernadine Huston, sisters Sally Christ, Pat Lindell, and brother Tommy Huston. She is survived by nieces and nephew Victor Lindell (Penny), Jenae Cornejo (Marty) of Wichita, Deanne Nelson (Scott) of Indiana, and many cherished friends in California.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the staff at Larksfield Place and Interim Hospice for their kindness and care.

A private service has taken place.

In honor of Gail, donations can be made to Pawsitive Tails Dog Rescue.
