Garold Norman Brooks, Captain (Retired) USMC, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 13, 2025. He was born to James and Leta Brooks on July 8, 1939. He was the seventh of ten children.
Garold graduated from West High School in 1956. Then he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after graduating from high school at the age of seventeen. On September 24, 1956 he married his high school sweetheart, Martha Kay Ball. Martha was a faithful military wife and supported him in all his duties.
He served his country proudly for twenty years as a devoted Marine. He received his Bachelors degree from Pepperdine University (Malibu, California) while being in the military. When he retired from the Marine Corps he moved back to Wichita, Kansas and went to work for the Coleman Company for twenty-eight years.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Martha, his parents James and Leta Brooks, his six sisters; Maxine Vaughn, Bonnie Fisher, Johanna Cruse, Imogene Farrar, Jacqueline Hicks, and Jeannine Smith, and his three brothers; James M. Brooks, Ronald Brooks, and Gaylord Brooks.
He is survived by his daughters; Cindy L. Magill, Tamara E. White (Steven), grandsons; Derek K. Magill (Hannah), Tyler L. White (Alexandra), great grandsons; David K. Magill and Caden R. White and many nieces and nephews.
Dad's absence has left his family with sadness and joy. We are grateful he is now fully restored, at peace, free from suffering, and that he has been reunited with his wife of sixty-eight years. We love you dad and we will see you again one day.
