Garry Beard

Garry E. Beard, 87, passed away at his home on November 13, 2021, after a six-year courageous and without complaint battle with lung, liver, and brain tumor cancers. Garry was born in Wichita in 1934 to Alfred and Mabel Beard (both deceased) and one sibling, Sandra Beard (deceased). Garry was married to Donna for 49 years before he left her to be with the Lord. Garry’s children are Dr. Charles Beard and wife, Beverly; Cheryl Dixon and husband, Jack; Denise Sayers and husband, Dave; and Brad Beard. Garry was a proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Garry built the Phillips 66 Service Station at Woodlawn and Central as a young man and sold it when he retired. After retirement, he was able to play golf five days a week until his health interfered. He loved the Lord, his life, his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, friends, his service station and the customers, and golf. He was a happy man. He will be missed by all who loved him. The family wishes to thank Harry Hynes Hospice for the excellent service and care they received. A private family service is planned for a later date.
