George Henry Snider, Jr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, passed away August 17, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas. He was 91 years old. Born on April 21, 1934, in Buffalo, New York, George lived a life marked by dedication, love, and a commitment to service.
A retired engineer at Boeing Aircraft Company, George demonstrated a remarkable talent for innovation and problem-solving throughout his career. His professional life was complemented by his active participation in organizations including Toastmasters and the Old Crows. He also served as a past Deacon at Central Christian Church.
George was affectionately known as "Opa," a name that reflects the love and warmth he brought into the lives of his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marian Snider; his children, Marcia Schoonover, Jeffrey Snider (Elizabeth Jackson), Jim (Beth) Snider, Melanie (Doug) Covell, Jackie (Terry) Arndt, and Douglas (Heather) Hutchens; as well as his treasured grandchildren, Spencer (Micaela) Arndt, Blake Arndt, Samuel Hutchens, Benjamin Hutchens, Carson Arndt, David Hutchens, and Hannah Covell. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, George and Evelyn (Kolb) Snider and his sister, Evelyn Snider Guenther. Their memory remains a cherished part of his legacy.
A Celebration of Life honoring George will be held on August 29, 2025, at the Cozine Life Events Center in Wichita, Kansas, beginning at 10:30 AM, followed by a meal for those in attendance.
