Glen David Rogers

Glen David Rogers was born December 15, 1952 in Fort Worth TX, and took his last breath at home in Newton KS, on April 10, 2026, at the age of 73.

Glen grew up in Portland OR, and spent a short time in La Porte TX, graduating from South Houston High School. He joined the Army in 1971, serving as a Chaplain’s Assistant, advancing to E5. He was stationed in Frankfurt Germany, before serving at Ft. Leavenworth KS, where he met his wife of 50 years, Signe. They raised four children.

Glen became active with his kids in the Boy Scouts of America with regular Pack, Troop, and Venturing leadership. He also was involved in Quivira Council BSA delivering training for adults: Pow Wow, Kind Eyes, Webelos Woods, Scoutmaster Fundamentals, Powderhorn, served as a Wood Badge Course Director and Council Wood Badge Committee Chair. His favorite times were with youth as a Cub Scout Den leader, Troop Scoutmaster, and Course Director for National Youth Leadership Training. Glen was awarded the Quivira Council Silver Beaver, and Order of the Arrow Vigil Honor. He proudly used to be a Wood Badge bear known as Gummy Bear.

Glen spent 30 years in sheet metal fabrication starting at Hesston Corp. through the many transitions of ownership to the present-day AGCO. Before full retirement he did sheet metal fab at Buckley Roofing in Wichita.

Glen was proceeded in death by his parents, Roger Noah Rogers and Katie Lucinda (Little) Rogers, and his sister Rebecca Rogers. Glen is survived by wife Signe E (Rosenblad) Rogers, brother Timothy (Susan) Rogers, and his four children Jonathan (Shelly) Rogers, Sarah (David) Roush, Ruth Rogers, and Benjamin Rogers, thirteen grandchildren: Isaac Pauls, Tyler (Samantha) Roush, Azaria Pauls, Andrew Roush, Eleazar Rogers, Jude Pauls, Michelle Tevington, Hannah Roush, Noah Pauls, Abraham Pauls, Katherine Tevington, Benjamin Pauls, and one great-grandchild whom he will not have the pleasure of meeting.

Celebration of life will be held at 5pm on May 9, in the Community Hall at Harvey County West Park, 2733 W Park Rd, Burrton, KS.
