Glenda Holt

Glenda was born in Caney, Kansas, to Glen and Lila Perdue, arriving into the world on her grandparents’ farm — a place that would shape her lifelong love of rural life and hard work. As the oldest of seven children, she embraced responsibility early, helping her parents and guiding her younger siblings with patience and care. Her family later moved to Derby, Kansas, where she attended school and built the foundation for the values she carried throughout her life.

While raising her children, Penny and David, on the family farm, Glenda devoted countless hours to volunteering and supporting the Andover Schools during their school years. Her dedication to young people extended far beyond her own family. She became deeply involved with Butler County 4‑H, serving as the crafts leader for the Purple Hearts 4‑H Club and contributing her leadership on both the Butler County Extension Board and the Butler County Fair Board. Through her work with the 4‑H rodeo and the Butler County Fair, she became a second mom to 4‑H’ers across the county — offering encouragement, creativity, and a steady hand whenever it was needed.

For 38 years, Glenda worked at Fastenair Corp, supporting her husband Jerome in the daily operations of the company. After his passing, she retired and embraced a new chapter centered around her great‑grandchildren. She rarely missed an event, cheering them on in 4‑H, band, basketball, football, cheerleading, and school programs. Being present for their activities brought her tremendous joy.

Glenda was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, where she volunteered and found fellowship within her faith community.

In the last five years of her life, Glenda returned to the family farm she loved so dearly. She spent her days tending flowers, caring for baby calves, and doting on the farm dogs — finding peace and purpose in the rhythms of the land that had shaped her from the very beginning.

Glenda’s legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured, the young people she encouraged, and the community she served with unwavering dedication.
