Ian Caleb Escalante, 40, passed away January 26, 2023, in Falls Church, Virginia, where he has resided since 2013. He was born in Wichita, Kansas December 15, 1982, in Wichita, Kansas, to Nelson Escalante and Catherine Cowley. Ian will be remembered for his love of The Beatles, Alice in Wonderland, boxing, and the playing the bagpipes. He was known as a “Mr. Fix It” for all things IT. But above all, Ian will be remembered for being a person of great character with a heart of gold. He was loyal, honest, giving, and protective of his loved ones. Ian led a diverse life, exploring and earning accolades and status in many different facets: soccer, gymnastics, Scottish highland dancing, bagpipes and guitar, Shriner membership, and writing computer software. He eventually found himself in advancing in IT for a large company in the Washington D.C. area. Ian is survived by his loving family: Alice Boyd (grandmother); Nelson Escalante and Catherine Cowley (parents); Nelson A. Escalante, Elaine Kane, and Andrew Mar (siblings), as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 11 th , from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Morningstar Community Church, located at 11010 E Kellogg Dr N, Wichita, KS 67207.
