James Dolton

James Paul Dolton, passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas on January 9, 2024 as the result of a vehicle vs pedestrian accident. James is survived by his daughter Imoen Dolton, his mother Sharon Dolton (Ron Messinger) of Brook Park, Ohio and his brother Christopher Dolton. James also had a special family: Gail, Dawson, Sabriya and Caden. James was a father, son, nephew, cousin and friend to many.

James was born in Wichita, Kansas on July 14, 1971, to Sharon and Paul Wood. He was preceded in death by his father Paul, his grandparents Bob and Eddeania Briner, and his cousin Jordan Briner.

James attended school in Wichita until his step-father's job moved them to Ohio. James graduated from North Olmsted High School in 1988.

From a young age, James displayed exceptional intelligence. He was an avid reader and a frequent patron of the Wichita Public Library. James also loved trivia, and was quite good at quoting obscure facts that he had picked up along the way. James never stopped learning. He loved to pick up a book and learn new facts that he could share with others.

James loved sports and could talk all day about the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed going to local events that supported the Browns.

James worked in the food industry and multiple restaurants across Wichita. James was quite good at what he did, and he enjoyed the work and the friendships he developed with each job.

James' final resting place will be near his beloved grandparents in the Kechi Township Cemetery.
