Jarvis L. Seaman, Sr., 65, a beloved member of his community and cherished family man, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 9, 2025. He was born on July 20, 1959, in Onida, South Dakota, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, following God, hard work, and dedication to those who knew him.
Jarvis dedicated many years of his professional life to the field of accounting, serving at Hall Industrial Services for the past 25 years. Beyond his career, he was actively involved in various community initiatives, exemplifying his commitment to service through his roles as Treasurer for the Sunnydale Historical Welfare Society, Bookkeeper for the Elks Lodge, and Treasurer and Worship Leader for New Hope Bible Church.
A proud graduate of Tabor College, where he earned a Business Accounting Degree, Jarvis’s education laid a strong foundation for his career and influence in the community. He found joy in singing, hunting, target shooting, horsemanship, and volunteering his time and talents for the benefit of others.
Jarvis is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou Seaman, and their three children: son Jarvis "JJ" Seaman, Jr. (Serenity), daughter Jarilyn Bolander (Jeffrey), and daughter Juli Kubish (Nathaniel). Additionally, he is the proud grandfather of ten grandchildren who were the apple of his eye.
He is also survived by his brothers, Jerry, Judson, and Julian Seaman. While he leaves behind a circle of family and friends who will remember him fondly, he was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Lois Seaman; his step-mother, Gail Seaman; as well as two sisters, Jolene Depew and Janel Fye and three brothers, Jonathan Seaman, James Seaman, and Jay Seaman.
The community will come together to celebrate the life God gave him and honor his memory in a series of gatherings. A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Cozine Life Events Center in Wichita, 11500 E. 21st St. N. . A Celebration of Life service will follow on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the First Evangelical Free Church, 1825 N. Woodlawn in Wichita. Jarvis will be laid to rest during a private burial service at Sunnydale Park Cemetery in Valley Center.
