Jauniece Nichelle Bias, born on August 12, 1982, passed away on September 1, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas, enveloped in love and quiet strength. At 43, she was a devoted mother, nurturing sister, beloved daughter, and adoring aunt, all roles she fulfilled with gentle grace and understated humor that deeply touched those around her.
Though naturally reserved, Jauniece’s warmth was unmistakable expressed through thoughtful gestures, caring smiles, and subtle humor that brightened everyday moments. Her compassion was quiet but profound; her love was felt deeply in simple, tender acts of giving and presence.
She is survived by her loving husband, Christopher Mercer, and their son, Christopher Mercer Jr., as well as her devoted parents, John C. Bias III and Lorie Michelle Bias of Wichita, Kansas. Also cherished by her sisters—Jessica Bias (partner Robert Kemper), Felicia Bias, and Amber Bias (partner Nikita Sykes)—Jauniece’s legacy lives on with her grandparents, Anne Jean Turner and John C. Bias Jr. Her memory further endures in her nieces and nephews: Mekhi Bias, Kiarra Gibbs, Acaisha Leigh, Aaliyah Robinson, Amari Robinson, Alana Sykes and Antonio Norman Jr., and is lovingly held by her extended family—her aunts /uncles: Larry and Linda Collins, Alesia Turner Salaam, Andy and Vickie Bias, Francis and Judy Bias, James and Maria Bias and many loving cousins—who will carry her spirit forward through the kindness she taught and the love she modeled.
