Jonelle Montgomery

Jonelle (Cline) Montgomery, 89, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026.

Jonelle was born in Lewis, Kansas, on January 28, 1937. A proud lifelong Kansan, she lived in Garden City, Emporia, Manhattan, Topeka, and Liberal before making her home in Wichita. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she loved being part of church communities and Bible study groups. She was a passionate fan of the Kansas State Wildcats. She loved hunting for bargains at garage sales and preserving family memories through scrapbooking and writing short stories from her life. She enjoyed traveling, whether for a historical reenactment, a country music show, a K-State football game, or a camping or square dancing trip. Friendly, kind, gentle, and humble, she will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Montgomery, Jr., and her brothers, James and Leslie. She is survived by her sons, Joe Montgomery III and his wife Cindi, and David Montgomery and his wife Laura; grandchildren Nikki and Jaza; great-grandchildren Valencia, Dante, Giovanni, and Elaine; nieces and nephews Robbie, Lisa, Leif, Lars, and Logan; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation with family will be held between 6:30-8:00 pm, on Thursday, Oct. 8, and Celebration of Life Service, 10:00 am, Friday, October 9, both at Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S.
