Joseph Lewis Kerr was born to Norma and Joseph Kerr in Wichita, Kansas on November 19th, 1952. He left us to join his heavenly Father peacefully in his sleep on December 12th, 2023 with his devoted sister and loving daughters by his side. Father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, he leaves behind his children Samantha Kerr, Katie & Erik Kurtz, and Christina Kerr. His sister Karen Kerr and nephews Jason and Justin Newberry. Joe was a hardworking man from the very beginning. From his days of putting in hours after school at Coors to the years dedicated to this country as a specialist in the Untied States Army, and his many ventures in between, Joe always focused on taking care of his family. While taking on the full time job of being a dedicated father he also spent years working for the pipeline industry before retiring in Wichita, Kansas from York International. The whole time he took on the nearly impossible task of raising his two daughters all on his own. He leaned on his church, family and friends for support. While Joe was always a private person he was always willing to open up and come out of his shell for his daughters. There is nothing he wouldn't or couldn't do for them. If you were lucky enough to get to know him well, you'd know he was kind, compassionate, dedicated and so very funny. His sense of humor definitely preceded his name. Joker! As he moves on to join his friends and family in the afterlife he would want us to remember him as the strong, loving man he was for all of us. He wouldn't want tears shed but instead memories and laughter shared. We can all be at peace knowing that Joe is forever free from the burdens of this lifetime and eternally riding on his Harley with Randy Oaks by his side. He will forever remain with us in spirit and his presence is always among us. We can all rest easy knowing he is up in heaven smiling down on us sending us love and joy. Rest in peace Joe Kerr. You are so very loved! Until we meet again.
