Josephine (Fall) Wolf, 96, died September 23, 2017 at the Cottonwood Creek Healthcare Facility in Richardson, TX. Josephine was born on September 14, 1921 in Montrose, Kansas, the daughter of Mary and Joseph Fall. She graduated from high school in Montrose, and taught rural school for two years. In 1941, Josephine moved to Wichita, Kansas where she worked for Beech Aircraft. In 1943, she met her husband, and the love of her life, August Wolf. She and August married in 1946, after he returned from the South Pacific where he was stationed during WWII. She and August lived in Wichita, where Josephine worked as an Executive Secretary for Watkins, Inc. and August worked for Boeing. In 1952, they welcomed their first child, Dixie Jean. In 1955, the couple moved to Seattle, Washington, where August continued his career with Boeing. In 1957, the couple moved to Kansas City, Missouri, after August was offered a position with the Bendix Corporation. In 1963, their second daughter, Cindy Jo, was born. Josephine continued to work in Kansas City, first with GSA, and later as the Executive Assistant to the Sergeant Major at Richards Gebaur Air Force Base. She concluded her working career at the Office of Surface Mining. She and her family were long-time Kansas City residents, where they were members of Peace Lutheran Church. In 1991, the couple, now retired, moved back to Wichita to be with friends and family. They attended Immanuel Lutheran Church. August worked part-time, while Josephine enjoyed visiting with her sisters, in-laws, nieces/ nephews and keeping house. The couple loved to travel nationally, and spent time in Dallas, Texas with their daughter, Cindy; in addition, they traveled to St. Louis, Denver, New Orleans and New York. In 2006, the couple purchased a home in Dallas and became residents of the Lone Star State. After a brief illness, August passed away in 2008. After breaking her hip in 2010, Josephine sold her home and moved to Cottonwood Creek. Survivors include her daughter, Cindy; son-in-law, Doug Biter; grandsons James August Biter and Charlie Biter of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter; Adele Falk, of Wichita, Kansas; grandson, Isaac Falk; and son-in-law, Joel Falk of Overland Park, Kansas. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, August; daughter, Dixie Jean; her parents, Mary and Joseph Fall; brothers, Alvin and Milford Fall; and sisters, Gladys, Clarice, Juanita and Juanice. Visitation with the family present will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, September 29, at Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway, Wichita, Kansas. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 30, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 909 S. Market St. Wichita, KS with Pastor Ron Gloe officiating. Interment will follow at Lehigh Township Cemetery in Lehigh, Kansas. Services by Broadway Mortuary.
