Joy Johnson

Joy Johnson, 85, born to Sam and Juanita Gaskill of Lewis, KS, June 7, 1937.

Joy was a popular and successful Mortgage Banker in Wichita, KS, starting with Interstate Securities in 1957 followed by Wichita State Bank, Wheeler Kelly Hagney, Fourth National Bank, Bank IV and East Side Bank. She entered banking as a secretary and retired a Vice President. Joy was active in the churches she attended over the years including Glen Park Christian Church, Westlink Christian Church and Saint James Episcopal Church. Joy was also an active member of Rolling Hills Country Club for 30 years where she enjoyed playing golf, socializing with her many friends and became the President of the Women’s Board. More importantly, Joy was a much loved and adored Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother who will be missed greatly.

Joy was preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart, best friend and husband of 55 years Keith. She is survived by her sons Reggie and Scott, Grandchildren, Brian, Brandy (Jeremy), Craig (Sheri), Evan (Paeten), Abbie and Great Grandchildren, Becca, Dash, Murphy, Theo and Oliver.
