Julie Ryherd

If you are reading this, God has called me home. I, Julie Ann (Tyson) Ryherd, passed on to be with my Lord and Savior on July 21, 2025 with my loving family by my side.

I was blessed with a wonderful life. I was born in Dodge City, Kansas to Robert and Lela Tyson on February 8, 1950. I had an incredible brother, Jed and a wonderful sister (in-law), Sharon. I met the love of my life in high school. Clifford Lee (Kip) Ryherd and I were married on July 27, 1973. Kip was privileged to pastor in different churches in the Methodist denomination.

My greatest pride is in my three children, Amy Nightengale and husband, Randy, of Shelley, ID; Jerrod and wife, Missi, of Overland Park, KS; Jeremy and wife, Rachel, of Mulvane, KS. I am so proud of my grandchildren who are each so special; Dylan, Elijah, Ella, Cole, Brooks, Koyie and Grayson. I prayed daily that each one of them would have a close relationship with Jesus.

I graduated from Campus High School (Haysville, KS) in 1968 and then went on to attend and graduate from Sterling College. I attained an elementary education degree. Teaching was my passion for 25 years as I taught in Oakley, Goddard, Kentucky, and Minneola schools. I made so many lifetime friends during my teaching career and continued to keep in contact with some of my students for years to come. I am grateful for each of you!

At the age of 7, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior at Dodge City Baptist Church. I was baptized on my 9th birthday. I thank God for the people of Goddard Global Church who have been so kind and helpful to me the past few months. I love you all and will be waiting to see you again.

A Funeral Service will be held at Asbury Church on Friday, July 25th at 10:00 a.m. with Pastors Kip Ryherd and Dan Ferguson officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Suggested memorial contributions are to Youth for Christ and Good Shepherd Hospice (Wichita).
