Kathryn L. Weiss, née Kammann, was born on August 12, 1962, in Kankakee, Illinois. She passed away on February 16, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and unwavering support for those around her.
Kathy was a dedicated friend and a highly respected paraeducator who devoted many years of her life to working with children with special needs in the school system in Andover, Kansas. Her commitment to helping others was evident in the profound impact she had on her students and their families. Kathy's dedication extended beyond her professional life; she was known for her steadfast friendships and the love she shared with many.
A proud graduate of Grace Baptist Academy High School in 1980 and Bob Jones University, Kathy's educational journey was marked by her desire to uplift others. Her vibrant personality and upbeat nature drew people to her, making her not just a remarkable colleague but also a cherished friend. Kathy loved to laugh and inspired those around her to be their best selves.
Kathy's life was enriched by her love of singing; her voice could fill a room with joy. She also enjoyed reading and crafting, and had a special fondness for the movie "The Wizard of Oz" and the musical "Wicked." Kathy cherished her connections with her pets, which brought her immense happiness and comfort throughout her life.
Her most significant accomplishments included her enduring friendship with her husband, Bodie Weiss, along with the many relationships she nurtured during her life. Together, they invested their hearts in supporting and caring for others.
Kathy is survived by her brother, Kent (Tracey) Kammann of Homer Glen, Illinois, along with her cherished nephew, Kaelan Kammann, and her beloved nieces, Kylie Kammann and Krystle Hallas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bodie Weiss, her parents, Richard Kammann and Rose Kammann, and her brothers, Kim Kammann and Kevin Kammann.
Kathy L. Weiss will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit, warmth, and compassion will live on in the hearts of those who were touched by her kindness.
