Kay Bloomquist

Kay Kathryn (Clark) Bloomquist, born October 24, 1936 in Hill City, Kansas. She was the daughter of Jesse J. Clark and Nellie Paintin Clark. Kay graduated from Hill City High School and enrolled at Minnesota Bible College in Minneapolis, Minnesota, following graduation. She had become a Christian during her high school years and had felt that the Lord was calling her into Christian education. She received the Bachelor of Christian Education degree in 1958 but instead of becoming a Christian education director in a local church, she was employed by the college as receptionist, secretary to the college's outreach director, and the "go-to" person for students.

Kay married George Bloomquist in August of 1960 at her home church in Hill City and together they served as pastor and wife and teacher in the church for the next sixty years. In addition, Kay worked as a librarian for the St. Louis County Library for thirteen years while they ministered in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the ultimate hostess and entertained people net to their congregations, taught Women's Bible Classes in her home, and taught preschool children on Sunday mornings.

Kay is survived by her husband George and her sons Phil and Mark as well as her daughter-in-law Erika. She was also grandmother to Breck and Taylor and Lars, all of whom were born and live in Wichita. She enjoyed sharing in all their growing up years. She also leaves a sister, Reva, who resides in Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Jack.
