Kay Nelson

Kay Nelson, passed away on July 7, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. She was born on April 26, 1939, in Wichita, Kansas, to her loving parents Vernon Cummins and Rose Mae Cummins. Kay was a devoted wife to her husband Gary Nelson and a proud mother to her sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Cathy Nelson, Mark Nelson, Phillip and Shelley Nelson, Patrick and Carlene Nelson. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Benjamin and Courtnee Nelson, Emma Nelson, Sharon and Robert McPherson, Jennifer Nelson, Rebekah Nelson, Kamee Nelson, Belinda Nelson. Kay also welcomed the joyful presence of her great-grandchildren Christopher Nelson, Robyn McPherson, Bryan McPherson, Tianna McPherson, Bubby McPherson into her life.

Kay's life was marked by many beautiful moments and significant milestones. As a military wife, she stood by her husband's side with unwavering support and strength. Kay found joy in creating a warm and loving home for her family.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 17th at 10:00 AM at Pleasant Valley United Methodist located at 1600 W 27th St N in Wichita. Following the Memorial Service will be a committal service at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Winfield at 2:00 PM.
