Kevin Coons, Sr

Kevin Mark Coons, age 63, Husband, Father, Brother, Friend, Mentor, Soldier, Professor, Man of faith, and most of all, a dreamer, passed on January 27, 2022 after his heart simply stopped. He put up a good fight, but his exposure to COVID was just too much for an already compromised heart.

Kevin was born on July 28,1958 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Kevin is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Albertine Coons; and siblings, Arthur Jr "Chip", Lisa, and Michael "Buddah". He is survived by his wife, Libbe Coons; children, George Arthur (Sara) Coons, Kevin Mark Coons Jr., Victoria Jean Coons, Ana (Matt) Ryan, and Michael Paul (Teresa) Yelland; siblings, Carol, Marie "Mame", Susan, David, Tina, and Leslie; and 14 grandchildren. Trisagion and funeral services 7:00 pm, Monday, February 7, at St. George Orthodox Christian Cathedral. Interment 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 8, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Derby. Meal/wake to follow interment at Warren River Park Lodge in Derby.

Kevin left many seeds planted, for his family, and his ever changing community of artist, manufacturers, scientists, soldiers, and dreamers. Kevin was a sentimentalist that was always dreaming of "what could be", "one of these days", "ya know what I was thinking", and inspiring those near him that anything is possible.
