Kurt W. Baumgartner

Kurt W. Baumgartner, 75, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025. A Celebration of Life Service is planned for 11:00 am, Thursday, June 19, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1958 N. Webb Rd. Kurt was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Vivian Baumgartner, and is survived by his wife, Terri Baumgartner; children, Erin Baumgartner (Patrick Aldrich), Jack Baumgartner (Amy), and Ann Smith (Chris); sister, Jan Morris (LB); brother, Eric Baumgartner (Rachel); and grandchildren, Obediah, Angus, Mercy, Clementine, Ezra, Abel, Eve, Reagan, and Ezekiel.

Kurt’s presidency of Martin Roofing Company spanned several decades, and he was a prominent member in the Wichita construction industry. He held multiple leadership roles in the Midwest Roofing Contractors’ Association, and in 1998 received their highest honor, the McCawley Award.

Kurt was a man of deep faith and was active in his church. He valued hard work and was generous with his time and resources. Kurt both loved and invested in the natural world. Above all, he was devoted to the Lord, his family – and his dogs – for as he often said, “Dogs are like pocketknives; you can never have too many.”

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Kansas Wildlife Federation or to the conservation organization of your choice. Share condolences at www.cozine.com. Services by Cozine Memorial Group-Cozine Life Events Center.
