Larry Moss Moffat, 69, passed away Friday, August 7, 2026, in Overland Park, Kansas, surrounded by those who loved him.
Larry was born July 15, 1957, in Great Bend, Kansas, to James “Red” Moffat and Lucy A. Moffat. He was a graduate of Fort Hays State University. Larry married Jeanne Cox Moffat in June 1979. Although they later divorced, they remained close friends and shared a lasting bond through their daughters, Lindsay and Kelsey. Larry was a devoted father who loved making people laugh and spending time with his family. In his younger years, he was an avid goose and duck hunter and enjoyed the outdoors.
Larry lived with Parkinson’s disease for more than 25 years. Although the disease brought many challenges, he faced it with strength and continued to live a life centered on family and connection. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, James “Red” Moffat and Lucy Moffat, and his brother, David Moffat. He leaves behind his daughters, Lindsay Moffat and Kelsey Moffat; his former wife and dear friend, Jeanne Cox Moffat; his beloved grand-dogs; and many family members and friends who will remember him with love. Larry will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Larry’s honor to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Share condolences at www.cozine.com. Services by Cozine Memorial Group-Broadway Mortuary.
