Lillian Fitchett

Lillian Theresa Johnston Fitchett, 91, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026. Lillian was born on October 24, 1934, to parents, Albert and Clementine Brungardt. Throughout her life she was amazingly hard-working, having to raise a family of 5 children on her own, after her first husband, Melvin, passed away while they were still young. Outside of raising her family, Lillian enjoyed letting her creativity out through pieces of art, particularly paintings. She also was an avid (and talented) bridge player, being recognized as a life master bridge player. Everywhere Lillian went, she would always make a new friend. Lillian is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Melvin Johnston, and Allen Fitchett; and siblings, Hubert, Elmer, and Mary Ann. She is survived by her children, Michael (Elizabeth) Johnston, Mark (Karrie) Johnston, Theresa (Bobby) Pope, Mary (Jeffrey) Barker, and Tom (Chris) Johnston; step-daughter, Betty Born; siblings, Leonard, Alberta, and Vera; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many extended family members. Service celebrating Lillian's life will be at 10:00am, Wednesday, January 28, at Broadway Mortuary. Private interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
