Maria Elisa Peñafiel, 101, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Maria was born February 16, 1925 in Lima, Peru to parents German Recalde and Amelia Bellido. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Juan Benjamin Robles and Teofilo Peñafiel; son, Luis Robles; and 6 siblings. She is survived by children, Roberto Robles, Juan Robles, Elisa Harrington-Robles, Jorge Robles, Nelly Carbajal-Peñafiel, Augusto Peñafiel, German Peñafiel, and Martin Peñafiel; grandchildren, Omar Robles, Rafael Robles, Sandro Robles, Carina Robles, Jose Antonio Robles, Luis Robles, Roberto Robles, Patrick Robles, Christopher Harrington, Ricardo Robles, Rolando Robles, Jim Paul Carbajal-Peñafiel, Joseph Peñafiel, Jonathan Peñafiel, and 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4-8pm, Tuesday, September 1st, at Broadway Mortuary. Funeral service will be at 10am, Wednesday, September 2nd, at Iglesia Cristo Vive. Burial at Kechi Cemetery will follow the funeral service.
