Marjorie L. Hartman

Marjorie Hartman passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, at the age of 95. She was born on January 26, 1930, to Earl and Lorene Hodges. She grew up in the El Dorado and Cassoday, Kansas communities. After graduating from Cassoday High School, she came to Wichita, Kansas to study at Wichita University and Wichita Business College. On November 20, 1949, she married Charles McCune. They had two daughters, Cheryl McCune Hennigh and Cindy McCune Baldwin.

As an educator for 50 years, Marjorie was a teacher and Director at Woodland and Asbury Preschools in Wichita. On June 12, 1982, she married Tom Hartman. Together, they enjoyed serving others as volunteers to their church and many organizations around Wichita. But most important to her was her family, friends, and sharing her faith with others.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom Hartman; stepdaughter, Debbie Brown; sisters, Wanda Haverty and Waketa Barngrover; and brother, Cloise Orr.

She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Hennigh of Wichita and Cindy Baldwin (Ron) of Scottsdale, AZ, as well as her stepson, Cliff Hartman (Janis) of Wichita and stepson-in-law, Bob Brown. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy: Matt and Emily Baldwin, Jenica and Dave McMaster, Jason and Amy Hennigh, Allison and Kevin Bollinger, Paige and Stephen Floyd, Mark Hartman and Dena Bunnel, Emily Brown, and Shannon and Marc Rafael. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Henley, Rogan, and Rivington Baldwin; Ellie, Izzy, and Milly McMaster; Michael and Maggie Hennigh; Brooks and Davis Bollinger; Hannah and Julia Floyd; Josephine and Beatrice Rafael. She is additionally survived by her brothers, Edgar Hodges and Charles Hodges, her sister, Joy Clements, and all of her nieces and nephews from the Hodges and McCune families.

Memorials have been established with Ronald McDonald House, 551 N. Hillside St #100, Wichita, KS 67214 and Wichita Children's Home, 7271 E. 37th St. N., Wichita, KS 67226.

Marjorie touched so many lives during her 95 years with her friendships and prayers. As we know, to know her is to love her!
