Marjorie G. Houser, 81, passed away Monday, April 3, 2023. Marge was born to Authur and Hazel Smith in Detroit, Michigan in 1942. Marge graduated from Wichita State University with her masters in teaching. Marge married her love, Charles W. Houser Jr., June 1965, in Wichita, Kansas. Marge then spent her life educating those young minds in the Wichita Public Schools. She was dedicated to help those children in her life to find a better path to greater understanding through education. Marge would spend her extra time sewing, gardening, and even teaching kids during the summer. Marge and Charlie brought into their lives a little boy names James Price. When Jimmy was not with his mother, he spent his time with them sometimes more than a year. Jimmy grew up to be Jim after their 4th grandchild was born in 1995. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Houser, Jr.; brother, Stephen A. Smith; and sisters, Marilyn Irene and Patsy Smith. Survivors include her youngest brother, Paul Smith; son, James Price; grandchildren, Carrie, Rebecca, Kimberly, and James; and nieces and nephews, Jimmy, Steve, Joshua, Janna, and Jaxon. Visitation with family, 5-7 pm, Thursday, April 6, at Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway. Graveside Remembrance Service, 10:30 am, Friday, April 7, at Greenwood Cemetery, 6231 W. 47th St. S.
