Mary Maze

Mary Maze, 97, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023. She was born on July 2, 1925, to Charles and Retha Prewitt in Independence, MO. She attended Business College after high school in the Kansas City area and then went on to work for the Wichita Board of Education until retirement. She has been a member of Beta Sigma Phi since 1949 and also worked as a volunteer at Wesley Hospital for 16 years. Her parents preceded her in death along with her husband, Bob Maze; and sisters, Marie (Leo) Gray and Dorothy (John) Gray. Survivors include her daughters, Deb (Al) Fitz and Kathy (Robert) Roohms; grandchildren, Melissa (Nate) Neises, Ryan Bebermeyer, Denae (Taylor) Pirnke, and Ali (Dan) Cohen; and 5 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on what would have been her 98th birthday, at 2:30 pm, Sunday, July 2, Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway. There will be a reception following at Via Christi Village Assisted Living, 3636 N . Ridge Rd. She will be interred at Resthaven Cemetery. Share condolences at www.cozine.com.
